Walsall Studio Ceramics (WSC for short) are David Jones & Esther Griffiths. They’ve been in full-time production of high-quality bonsai pots for decades, supplying customers all over England & Europe.
The Walsall range includes mould-formed, wheel-thrown, slab constructed & hand-formed work. WSC pots always sell out at Bonsai Shows in England, & are stocked year-round at Corin Tomlinson’s Greenwood Bonsai Studio, Nottingham. Bonsai Island has sold hundreds Walsall pots in Australia since 2017, when Corin introduced us at Bonsai Europa.
In 2025, we launched a range of 40cm+ pots created locally in collaboration with Walsall based on their designs – lipped & internal rim ovals and soft-corner rectangles – made in Australia by ceramicist Tracey Francis.
Pots made to meet an identified need in the local market for high standard, high quality & technically superb large glazed bonsai containers, using several different clay bodies & also introducing unglazed examples in grey clay.
Remaining available pots from the 2025 collaboration can be found here!
